Discovery Harbour, at the southernmost tip of the Big Island of Hawaii ... and of the United States as well ... is a beautiful rural residential area with lots of green grass, horses, cows, even goats and sheep. Days are warm and nights are cool.  We're at the foot of Mauna Loa, about 40 miles south of Kilauea Volcano.  The towns of Kona on the west side of the island and Hilo on the east are equidistant from Discovery Harbour, making it easy to visit either.  Close to this area are Punalu'u Black Sand Beach, with its rare sea turtles, and Green Sand Beach, where you can hike in to see this unusual volcanic sand.

Ours is a cozy, intimate setting in a real home. Each of our rooms is designed with comfort in mind. Curl up at night in a wonderfully comfortable bed and let your cares float away.  Sit in the living room with your feet up.  Read, watch TV, play Scrabble.  Play DVDs or tapes from our extensive library.  Luxuriate on the lanai.  Watch the wild birds feed as you breakfast.  Nights are quiet as a church at midnight and you'll sleep like a baby.

Two bedrooms are available for guests, with a shared bath.  One room has a queen-size bed, the other twin beds.  Well-behaved children are always welcome.

Your stay includes an all-you-can-eat breakfast, with breads, pastries, croissants, cereal, muffins, juice, fresh island fruits, coffee, hot chocolate and teas.  

Free broadband internet connection.  MacBook laptop available for guest use.  Office services available, including copies, fax and scanning.
